Newly Added! 3D Stock Animation depicting Spinal Cord Stimulator Implant For Pain Syndrome Cases
In damages claims involving plaintiffs with developing chronic pain symptoms, our clients utilize 3D surgery animations such as Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) implants to help the jury visualize the mechanism of a spinal injury, malfunction in the nervous system, and subsequent surgical intervention.
The animation helps to demonstrate how SCS implantation surgery is performed to manage the localized pain and abnormal inflammatory responses caused by neuroforaminal narrowing or disc protrusions harming the nerve roots and spinal cord.
The implantation of an SCS device requires incisions to be made in the back, and exposure of the bony vertebra. A portion of bone is removed to provide access for the leads. Wire leads are tunneled under the skin to a “pocket” made in the gluteal region. The pulse generator is placed in the pocket under the skin, and the wire leads are connected to the generator. When turned on, the SCS device stimulates the nerves from the affected area. The electrical impulses mask the pain signals that reach the brain.
