$14.65 MILLION SETTLEMENT: Bicycle vs. Auto

Michael Alder, Jennifer P. Burkes and Jefferson Saylor of AlderLaw retained MotionLit to produce a Settlement Documentary for their client, a 56-year-old project manager. Plaintiff was riding his bicycle to work when defendant was exiting Foothill Road on his way to work. When defendant reached the end of Foothill Road, he struck plaintiff causing him to be thrown from his bicycle. Plaintiff suffered catastrophic spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia.

The video produced by MotionLit established the total loss and damages which helped to put into perspective the struggles and suffering that the plaintiff and family members faced each day. The video also illustrated the full time care that was necessary to perform simple daily tasks such as eating, dressing, grooming and moving from point A-to-B. Plaintiffs co-workers and supervisors were also interviewed to help paint a picture of his work ethic and the impact he had on colleagues and his surrounding social circle. The video ends with an emotional interview of the daughter discussing how her father will not be able to walk her down the aisle ever again.
